Wills, Estates and Succession Act: an Excerpt from the 2009 Edition of Annual Review of Law & Practice
Author: Heather Fisher

Heather Fisher summarizes key provisions of The Wills, Estates and Succession Act (Bill 28, 2008), a new omnibus statute dealing with succession law, which consolidates a number of separate succession-related enactments and aims to modernize the statutory and common law of succession to property on death. While Bill 28 was allowed to die on the order paper, it is expected to be reintroduced in 2009.
