“I believe that great advocates are largely made and not simply born to the task. That being so, one can learn a significant amount by hearing from experienced advocates, watching them in action, and practicing oneself before a highly talented faculty. To that end, this intensive course is the perfect answer.”

The Honourable Chief Justice Robert J. Bauman, Appeal Court for BC

“The art of advocacy is about effective persuasion, and effective persuasion is providing clients with access to justice. For ten years I have had the pleasure of working with young and not so young lawyers in BC. It is invigorating and inspiring to watch lawyers dedicate themselves to improving their ability to effectively represent clients. The instructors in this course represent a wonderful cross-section of the best advocates in BC as well as judges from our courts who say that they learn as much from the “students” as the students learn from them. One of the real benefits of this course has been to build an ever-growing core of lawyers dedicated to advocacy as an art, and as an important part of the legal profession’s commitment to improving access to justice.”

The Honourable Madam Justice M. Marvyn Koenigsberg, Supreme Court of BC

“The Advocacy Skills Workshop provides a unique learning environment in which criminal and civil litigators can enhance their advocacy skills.”

The Honourable Chief Judge Thomas J. Crabtree, Provincial Court of BC

“Not only did it give me a better base for trial work but it gave me a new enthusiasm for the practice of law.”
