The recent decision in Voltage Pictures LLC v. Does addressed a number of issues concerning disclosure of identifying information by Internet service providers. While the decision concerned a claim for copyright infringement, the principles underlying disclosure of private information and the procedure adopted by the court are equally applicable to claims in copyright, defamation, breach of privacy, or any other type of claim where a litigant is seeking personal information about a potential defendant from a third party. Join this interesting discussion of the application of the TekSavvy case.
