Do you or your client send electronic messages such as emails or texts to or from Canada, pertaining to commercial activity such as products, services, investment, non-profit activities, or ads? Do you or your client have the express or implied consent of the recipient to send these messages? Do you or your client plan to send an electronic message requesting consent to send electronic messages pertaining to commercial activity?
If you answered yes to any of the above, Canada’s new Anti-Spam Law applies. Canada’s Anti-Spam Law (CASL), comes into force on July 1, 2014 and is more onerous than any other anti-spam legislation.
