Who should attend: Lawyers who delegate work to juniors and paralegals.
Learning level: All levels
Delegation is essential to a thriving legal practice. Effective delegation is also a key skill for increasing productivity and profitability while reducing feelings of overwhelm. Yet despite these clear benefits many lawyers fail to delegate effectively, or at all. Allison Wolf will be joined by panelists Richard Bereti, the Managing Partner at Harper Grey LLP and by Lauren Cook from Lawson Lundell LLP.
Are you a reluctant delegator?
- you have tried delegating and have been let down time and time again
- you have found that no one does the work as well as you, or the way you want it done
- you have concluded that it is just faster and easier to do it yourself
- or by the time you figure out that something could have been delegated it is too late
This one hour course is aimed at reluctant delegators and designed to provide practical and actionable tips and tactics for making delegation work for you and your practice. The tips on how to delegate can apply to any situation. The focus of the discussion in the course is on delegating legal work to associates and articled students.
You will learn:
- how to overcome the common road blocks to delegation
- a delegation process that sets you up for success
- how to deal with the perfectionist mindset that can derail delegation efforts
- what to do when things go sideways
