About the Course Chairs
Guy P. Brown, QC is a partner at Harper Grey LLP in Vancouver. He has a trial and appellate practice in the areas of health, insurance, and administrative law with emphasis on the defence of medical negligence and severe personal injury claims, opinions, and litigation involving coverage and technical issues in insurance law, and representation of physicians in matters involving the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Medical Services Commission. Guy is a chapter author for CLEBC’s BC Civil Trial Handbook and chapter author and editorial board member for the book BC Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Practice Manual also published by CLEBC. He was called to the BC bar in 1983 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2012.
Sandra Katalinic is a partner at QA Law, Vancouver, and has practiced exclusively as a litigator in Vancouver since her call to the bar in 1994. She joined the firm in 2003. Her practice is mainly in the areas of personal injury, motor vehicle, and insurance claims. In addition, Sandra has acted in professional negligence claims, wrongful dismissal claims, and civil and commercial litigation. Sandra has appeared as counsel at all court levels in British Columbia. She has considerable experience as trial counsel in both judge-alone and jury trials in the BC Supreme Court and as appellate counsel before the Court of Appeal. Sandra also has appeared as co-counsel at the Supreme Court of Canada. She acts frequently in mediations often involving complex multi-party disputes and has represented clients in arbitrations.
Sandra is an editorial board member and contributing author for the CLEBC publication British Columbia Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Practice Manual, and has lectured for CLEBC and Canadian Defence Lawyers.
