Who should attend: Past attendees of The Powerful Performance and anyone who wants to increase their effectiveness, improve their confidence, and maximize their performance in court.
Limited Enrolment. Register early to avoid disappointment!
Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced
The first course in The Powerful Performance series focused on how to be more natural, believable, and self-possessed, and how to implement simple, concrete techniques that maximize your performance at trial, in mediation, in arbitration, and in any legal argument. But what happens next? How can you re-think your presentations in a way that will deepen audience engagement? And what happens when you want to go off script or get blindsided by an unanticipated question? These questions are the focus of Beyond the Powerful Performance. In this course, everybody learns by doing. Each participant is given ample opportunity to present and receive one-on-one feedback in a supportive and transformative environment.
After taking this course you will be able to...
-
think on your feet and deal with the unexpected
-
use elements of classic story form to activate legal narratives
-
feel empowered and confident, with an increased ability to persuade and make strong connections with colleagues, clients, jurors, and judges
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6 hours. If you attend the course plus the lunch optional session, you will obtain a minimum of 1 hour of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management and a total of 7 CPD hours.
