Who should attend: Lawyers who practice in the areas of municipal law, administrative law, and real estate; the course may also be of interest to those practicing in the area of construction law, developers and officers of local government, and notaries public.
Learning level: Intermediate
Subdivision crosses many boundaries in the practice of law—municipal, administrative, and real estate. In this course, we will tie together all of these aspects of subdivision to give you a comprehensive understanding of the area. Topics include: drafting subdivision agreements, dedications, security, regulation of standards, approving officers’ discretion, building schemes, and more.
At this course you will learn about...
- drafting the Work Services Agreement, letters of credit, and other security and warranties
- statutory rights of way and restrictive covenants
- public dedications such as parks, school lands, and highways
- public interest and judicial review of the approving officer
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 6.5 hours.
