Who should attend: Recent graduates of paralegal training programs, and new legal administrative assistants; the course will also appeal to those who have been in the office environment but want to up their game.

This is the fourth course in the five-part Paralegal Core Competency Series, intended to provide a foundation for a successful transition into the workplace.
Effective writing skills and a strong understanding of affidavit drafting practices will help you excel as a paralegal. This course will provide you with an introduction to the fundamentals of drafting affidavits.
At this course you will learn:
- the purpose of an affidavit
- how affidavits are used
- the Rules on affidavits
- different types of affidavits
- what does and doesn't go into an affidavit
- best practices for formatting and writing affidavits
- who can take an affidavit
- how to deal with exhibits

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 1.5 hours
This course will NOT involve aspects of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management. NOTE: If you attend both the original live course AND the rebroadcast, you may claim credit for ONLY ONE of them.
