Who should attend: All those who have an interest in human rights issues, including human resource professionals and employment, labour, and human rights lawyers.

Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced

CLEBC is proud to offer our annual two-day conference that includes case law update, judicial review update, and ethics fact patterns together with the latest issues and developments in human rights law, to keep your practice up to date. Covering a wide variety of topics over two days, this conference will provide you with a comprehensive human rights update! It will also provide you with all of your continuing professional development requirements for the year.

After taking this course, you will:

  • be aware of the latest cases and how to apply them to your practice before the Human Rights Tribunal and in the courts
  • be up to date on developments in the law of undue hardship and the duty to accommodate
  • be aware of the issues of substance abuse and addiction
  • be current on the issues of political belief and free speech under the Human Rights Code
  • understand how to be an effective advocate in the judicial review context

Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 13.5 hours (a minimum of 2 hours will involve aspects of professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
