This course will give you a comprehensive review of the current tools and techniques that need at your disposal to effectively manage legal research. You will benefit from the wealth of experience of research lawyers who have combined traditional strategies with the creative use of technology to solve the most challenging research problems. At this course you will learn:
- how to leverage legal research in the courtroom – The View from the Bench
- resources of the Courthouse Library system
- how to effectively conduct research that supports statutory interpretation
- the when and how of researching US law from an American authority
- the basics of researching Aboriginal law – an area of far reaching impact in many areas of Canadian law
