Call for Papers!

Thursday, November 30 and Friday, December 1, 2017
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Vancouver location to be announced,
or attend via webinar

Who should attend: All those who have an interest in human rights issues, including human resource professionals and employment, labour, and human rights lawyers.

Learning level: Intermediate/Advanced

CLEBC is proud to present this year's Human Rights Law Conference. Over the course of two days, we'll address the most current and emerging issues in human rights law and aim to provide you with a substantive look at the current trends and practical issues to meet the increasingly complex and sophisticated issues in this area of practice.

At this time, we invite lawyers, academics, the judiciary, human resource practitioners, tribunal members, and all other professionals interested in the area of human rights law to provide us with a brief outline of papers and presentations that you want to propose for a spot on the agenda. Most of the topics for the conference come from the interesting responses to our "Call for Papers". We welcome topics related to all aspects of human rights including workplace human rights, international human rights, charter issues, group rights, and many others.

You can take a moment to reveiw the agendas from 2015 and 2016 to get a sense of what topics have been covered in the past. We do our best to have different topics each year, unless there have been significant developments or changes in the area.

Please send your submissions and/or any questions you have to Genevieve Chang at gchang@cle.bc.ca with the following information:

  • your name and organization
  • proposed topic
  • 1/2 to 1 page outline of your proposed paper and presentation

All submissions received by Monday, May 1, 2017 will be reviewed and considered by the conference chairs and planning committee.
We look forward to receiving your ideas.
