Who should attend: Lawyers practising family law, parents’ counsel, directors’ counsel, and all others involved in Child Protection work, including social workers, members of Indigenous organizations, front-line advocates, and law students
Learning level: All levels
Learn best practices from experienced parents’ and directors’ counsel who understand this challenging area of law and can show you how to better serve your clients. The early optional one-hour session will give you the basics of child protection practice. This will be followed with a day of analysis of more advanced issues, an exploration of collaborative approaches, a detailed case law review and a view from the bench session.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours:
6 hours (including a minimum of 1 hour pertaining to professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management) or 7 hours if you also attend the optional one-hour Child Protection Basics session
