One of the most significant aspects of practicing law in an increasingly global economy (as well as in communities growing more multi-ethnic and multicultural each day) is the challenge of sustained interaction between people who are different from us in various ways. Even the simplest of encounters can often leave lawyers, paralegals, or clients feeling confused, frustrated, offended, or (worst of all) seriously hurt — even when everyone involved began with the best of intentions.
Now that the Law Society of BC has approved "multicultural, diversity, and equality issues that arise within the legal context" as an eligible Practice Management topic, this is an ideal time for you to increase awareness of these critical issues.
Join us for this lively, interactive program based on original films from the nationally recognized presenters at ReelTime CLE. You will explore cross-cultural interactions and the ways that so-called "implicit biases" that we all have can affect how we interact with each other.
Law Society of BC CPD Hours: 3 hours (a minimum of 3 hours involving professional responsibility and ethics, client care and relations, and/or practice management)
