The medium is the message. Effectively manage all your media messages!
We live in an age dominated by rapid communications and multi-faceted communications technology. In this digitally connected world, traditional media such as print, radio, and television are joined by the Internet and a wealth of online resources. In this brave new world of communications, the news media has great relevance to legal matters—if there is a legal matter of interest to the public, it can be certain to attract media attention. Unfortunately, many lawyers are often drawn into media interactions with little or no understanding of how the media operates or how to communicate with the media. This comprehensive one-day course will give counsel assistance with: 1) legal and professional duties that arise in dealing with the media; 2) understanding the media perspective; and 3) practical tips for dealing with the media. This course will feature media savvy counsel from a variety of backgrounds and veteran journalists from a variety of media.
