About the Course Chair
Marie-Claire Dy is a Partner in the Tax Group at the Vancouver office of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. She advises clients on corporate income tax and commodity tax matters with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate and partnership reorganizations, financings and Canadian tax issues relating to international and cross-border transactions. Her clients range from small business owners to multinational corporations.

On the personal income tax side, Marie-Claire counsels high net worth individuals and foreign clients on all aspects of tax planning including the establishment, operation and reorganization of businesses and succession planning.

A practical and straightforward person with tremendous tax acumen, Marie-Claire acts as a trusted advisor to her diverse client base. She is especially admired for her responsiveness and her ability to translate complicated matters into simple language.

Marie-Claire has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the publication The Best Lawyers in Canada 2022 (Tax Law). She is a former governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation and former chair of the CBA Tax Section (BC Branch).
