About the Course Chair
Andrea Rayment Verwey is a lawyer who now devotes her professional life to supporting lawyers in public and private practice. As a lawyer coach, Andrea is known for helping people at all stages get to the heart of what matters to them, and how they can build their strengths and values into sustainable careers. As a workshop facilitator and keynote speaker, she is known for her energy, optimism, and straight talk about what it takes to thrive in law.
Before striking out on her own in 2007, Andrea practiced labour and employment law for close to a decade – at Alexander Holburn in Vancouver, and then with two national firms in Australia – and then led the Australian offices’ professional development program for global law firm Baker McKenzie.
Andrea holds a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University (2016), a JD from the University of Toronto (1993), and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University (1989). She was called to bar in BC in 1994, and in the State of Victoria (Australia) in 2002.
