Who should attend: Corporate paralegals and legal support staff, articling students and all those who advise, volunteer for, or work with charities or not-for-profits: specifically lawyers, directors and officers, executive directors, accountants, and trustees.

Learning level: Fundamental/Intermediate

Do you need to incorporate a new society in BC but don't know where to begin? In this course, experienced faculty will guide you through the preparation and filing of documents and provide you with checklists, tips, prescribed forms, and precedents.

You will learn about:

  • naming a society
  • considerations on drafting for future operations
  • drafting the documents required to incorporate
  • on-boarding and Societies Online
  • organizing — matters to be considered and completed at your first Board meeting
  • setting up your Society for a successful first year of operation

Join us to find out the information that you need to gather, issues you need to consider, and documents that you need to prepare.
