“HER CAREER HAS ONLY JUST STARTED, BUT DR. DONNA MAY KIMMALIARDJUK is already making history, as Canada’s first Inuk heart surgeon. She’s in her fourth year of residency at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Her roots are in Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut, but grew up in Ottawa. She is also one of the winners of the 2018 Indspire Awards which honours outstanding Inuit, Metis and First Nations people. Watch Adrian Harewood’s interview on the program Our Ottawa.”
