THERE’S STILL TIME TO REGISTER for 2026 Pathways: Indigenous Sport Leadership Gatherings, bringing together Indigenous community champions, coaches, leaders, recreation managers, youth workers, and other advocates in the fields of sport, recreation, physical activity, health, and education at UBC on Saturday, September 12, 2026, “to LEARN, SHARE, EXPLORE and ENGAGE.”
In other sports news, the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC), which “has been dedicated to making participation in sport, physical activity, recreation, and healthy living a priority for Indigenous youth and communities” since 2009, is calling out for qualified Indigenous hockey coaches to join the Team BC volunteer coaching staff for the 2027 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC).
As well, registration is now open for the 2026 Regional Healthy Living Leader Training sessions. “These sessions are complimentary for those working within Indigenous communities who want to deliver an Honour Your Health Challenge or Indigenous RunWalkWheel program.”
This summer, I-SPARC relocated to its new home in Victoria, B.C. Keep an eye on its event calendar for all the news!
