REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for Xwelítem Siyáya: Foundations, the next offering of the Allyship and Reconciliation Building program at the Peace and Reconciliation Centre (PARC) at the University of the Fraser Valley in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

Xwelítem Siyáya Foundations is a 45-hour, non-credit learning journey for those seeking to deepen their understanding of Indigenous–settler relations, responsibilities, and reconciliation. Rooted in Stó:lō Téméxw, the program brings together place-based learning, experiential engagement, dialogue, and critical reflection through Modules and Workshops offered across the academic year. This fall, Foundations begins with 17 learning hours across four evening Module sessions and one full-day Workshop:
Foundations Module: History, Place & Responsibility
October 15, 20, 22 & 27 | 6:30-9:30p.m.
Build a foundation for understanding Indigenous–settler relations through Stó:lō perspectives, with learning led by Stó:lō Knowledge Givers, researchers, and community leaders.
Foundations Workshop: Relational Learning in Practice
Saturday, October 17 | 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m.
Explore reconciliation through reflection, discussion, and hands-on learning with Beyond Blankets: A Stó:lō Lands Exercise and a cedar weaving workshop.
Participants may register for Modules and Workshops individually, and we recommend completing the Module and Workshop offered within the same season for a more connected learning experience.

Foundations will continue across three seasons/semesters, providing participants with opportunities to progressively deepen their learning throughout the year. Those who complete the full 45-hour program, whether over the year or at a reduced pace, will receive a micro-credential through UFV Continuing Education.
